Program 01

Vocational Training

In rural Cameroon, many young people — especially women — lack access to formal employment or the skills to create their own livelihood. CRUCDEV’s Vocational Training Program addresses this directly, providing hands-on, practical skills training that opens doors to economic independence.

Operating through our Community Empowerment Center — supported in partnership with the High Five Club and CRUCDEV-Cameroon — trainees learn tailoring, use of industrial sewing machines, carpentry, and other marketable trades in a structured, supportive environment.

“Job creation opportunities through vocational skills acquisition” — CRUCDEV Objective #3
What This Program Includes
Tailoring & Fashion Design
From basic stitching to operating industrial overlock machines — building confidence and professional skill
Carpentry & Woodwork
Practical carpentry skills and use of tools for furniture making and construction work
Computer Skills & Digital Literacy
Basic computer training to open access to the digital economy for rural youth
Community Empowerment Centre
A dedicated physical training space with donated machines and tools for ongoing community skills development
SDG 1 – No Poverty SDG 4 – Quality Education SDG 8 – Decent Work & Growth SDG 5 – Gender Equality
Program 02

Tree Planting & Green School Initiative

Rural communities in South West Cameroon depend deeply on their natural environment — yet deforestation, soil erosion, and food insecurity threaten their way of life. CRUCDEV’s Green School Initiative responds by embedding environmental education and tree planting directly into the fabric of rural schools and communities.

Beyond the schools, CRUCDEV works with women’s farming groups, supplying tools, watering equipment, and agricultural knowledge to help families achieve food security and generate sustainable income from the land.

“Enhance water and food security” and “Improve general well-being and livelihood” — CRUCDEV Objectives #4 & #6
What This Program Includes
School Compound Tree Planting
Students and teachers plant trees across school grounds, learning environmental stewardship from an early age
Community Tree Nurseries
Establishing local tree nurseries to provide seedlings for ongoing community reforestation efforts
Farming Tools & Agriculture Support
Donating hoes, watering cans, and gardening equipment to women’s farming groups for food production
Environmental Education Curriculum
Teaching sustainability, land care, and climate responsibility in rural primary schools
SDG 2 – Zero Hunger SDG 13 – Climate Action SDG 15 – Life on Land SDG 1 – No Poverty
Program 03

Primary School Library Establishment

Across rural South West Cameroon, many primary schools have no library — and many children have never owned a book. CRUCDEV’s School Library Establishment Program partners with international book aid organisations to change this, supplying donated books to schools and establishing permanent reading resources for communities.

The flagship Tombel Public Library Book Feeding Project supplies the local public library with textbooks and reference materials, creating a shared resource for students, teachers, and the wider community in Tombel town.

Educational Outreach & School Supplies

Many children in rural Cameroon attend school without the most basic supplies — no bag to carry their books, no stationery, no reading materials. CRUCDEV’s Educational Outreach Program takes direct action: our team visits rural schools and villages, distributing supplies that make the difference between a child staying in school or dropping out.

These educational visitations are about more than supplies — they are moments of encouragement, dignity, and connection. Every visit reminds a child that they matter and that their education is valued.

“Create learning opportunities for all school-age children” — CRUCDEV Objective #1
What This Program Includes
School Bag Donation Project
Distributing quality school bags to primary school pupils who cannot afford basic school supplies
Books & Stationery Distribution
Exercise books, pens, pencils, and reading materials donated directly to pupils and schools in need
Regular Educational Field Visits
CRUCDEV teams make regular in-person visits to remote rural schools and communities with supplies and encouragement
Health, Agriculture & Sanitation Workshops
Community education sessions on hygiene, nutrition, clean water access, and basic healthcare for families
SDG 4 – Quality Education SDG 1 – No Poverty SDG 3 – Good Health SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities
